Teamwork is what teamwork does!

Dscn0168-croppedI would like to offer special thanks to the people who never seem to pass up an opportunity to do something wonderful for others. It is this spirit that inspires and calls others to emulation. Action with a purpose has been the mandate here in Bridgeburg, and cooperation has been key to success. For many of us youth sports had played a great part in our development as team players and leaders. It is to youth and the community of volunteers that supports and encourages them that this post is devoted (with all my heart).

When I approached Nick and Julie Brady at Regional Limousine to ask for a discount to help me treat the players to a surprise limo ride for their final game of the regular season they promptly offered to provide the service at no cost. One of their employees also volunteered his time to drive the limousine (thank you, Dave!). Again, when I went to source a light confection as a treat for the players Tanya Huggins at Bella Cakes Cafe & Bakery offered her delicious cake pops at no cost and even colored them to match our jerseys.

I like to think the Moms & Dads and especially the players recognize that working together can achieve great things anytime in life no matter the endeavor! We all hope the players got the message they are special and necessary in their unique roles on the team and are all worthy of recognition for the inspiring independent and team growth that we had the privilege to witness this season. First-time coaches Mark and Pam Beattie were also inspired by this energetic group of young ladies and as I understand it are committed to continuing to volunteer their time as coaches for the Fort Erie Minor Ball Association.

Opportunity for youth sponsorship has been a blessing and it was our joy to try to give the girls a lasting memory. Our fellow business operators who we approached for assistance were swift with their generosity and came through in flying colors! A baker’s dozen of smiling faces stepped out of a limousine onto the playing field to put their team into action! We hope the excitement lasts a lifetime.
